A selection of projects we’ve been involved with.
In this project, load-bearing roof beams have been painted with our transparent fire retardant paint, Novatherm 1FR, to achieve the Fire Rating R30. Non-load-bearing wooden surfaces have been painted to meet the Fire Rating B-s1,d0.
Novatherm 1FR has been sealed with Protega Top 1FR. It is crucial that a topcoat used to seal a surface meeting the B-s1,d0 requirement is included in the fire test to ensure that the B-s1,d0 fire rating is achieved even with the topcoat.
With Protega’s expertise, we were consulted early in the renovation project for Feskekörka. Thickly painted old wooden planks, which smelled of fish, needed to meet the Fire Rating B-s1,d0 after renovation.
We cleaned the surface with a painter’s wash, then applied the fire retardant paint Protega Upgrade, designed for previously painted surfaces.
At RISE in Borås, an SBI test was conducted as requested by the clients.
In the Feskekörka project, the fire retardant paint Protega Upgrade is applied to all wooden paneling to meet B-s1,d0, and on the load-bearing structure, the fire retardant paint Novatherm 2FR is applied to achieve R30.
Micropower is expanding with a new 25,000 square meter facility in Växjö.
From the outset, an extensive sustainability program was implemented for the project. The building aims to embody Micropower’s values of resource efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
In this project, Protega Steel 1001 is being used on the load-bearing steel structure.
The building is designed to be simple and modern, serving as a combined battery and charger factory, headquarters, and innovation center.
The load-bearing steel structure at Northvolt Skellefteå has been fireproof painted with Protega Steel 1001.
Using the fire retardant paint Protega Steel 1001 ensures excellent results. It contains no fibers, which provides a neat surface finish and makes it easy to apply. You can start applying it after a simple stirring; the product consistently maintains high quality. Protega Steel 1001 has been tested according to a European standard and holds a European approval (ETA 20/1123) for fire insulation of load-bearing steel structures. The product is CE marked.
An exciting project involves a building that is a designated cultural heritage site and is undergoing a complete change in use. Previously a stable, the facility is being transformed into part of the Alnarp Agricultural School, featuring a library on the second floor. The load-bearing wood structure needed to meet the fire requirement R60. With the fire retardant paint Novatherm 4FR tinted to an antique gray shade, the building is now secure for its new function.
Malmö Sports Elementary School is being constructed to accommodate seven parallel classes for grades 7-9, with a capacity for 550 students. The school is designed for students with a sports focus, both from within and outside Malmö city. Much of the load-bearing steel structure is being fireproof painted with Protega Steel 1001 to achieve the Fire Rating R60.
We will visit the Forskaren project in the fall of 2022. Our client, Firesafe Sverige, will be fireproof painting the load-bearing steel structure with Protega Steel 1001.
Feel free to watch the video where Henrik from Firesafe guides us around. We finish in a room with an incredible amount of beautifully fireproof-painted steel. With the right quality and professional execution, it looks this stylish! Watch the Forskaren film
