Wood, during a fire, undergoes a charring process that reduces the structure’s load-bearing capacity. To delay this process, the structure can be fireproof painted with Novatherm 2FR.
With Novatherm 2FR, we can achieve the Fire Rating R30. The amount of paint depends on the dimensions of the structure and the degree of load utilization that the column or beam has.
In our sizing tables for load-bearing wood structures, the correct amount of paint is determined.
Novatherm 2FR can be painted over with Protega Topcoat W to achieve a wipeable surface or if a specific color is desired.
Both Novatherm 2FR and Topcoat W are recommended by the Building Product Assessment. Evaluated by Sundahus, Red List Free, and registered in Basta.
